Building Collectives

We believe in encouraging active participation of the community members to work collectively towards shared goals rather than us setting up projects to deliver services. We seek to endorse democratic membership-based organisations with transparent and ethical policies that:

  • Empower relevant communities
  • Engage with stakeholders
  • Change public opinion to favour working class gender and sexual minorities and sex workers

Building Capacity

Community based organisations function efficiently when they are adaptable, have opportunities to enhance essential skills and abilities, and understand the root cause of problems while tackling social issues. We contribute by:

  • Supporting the strengthening and development of their organisational skills
  • Expanding their perspectives and increasing their understanding of themselves and of others
  • Helping them adapt their existing skills to improve their leadership and resource base
  • Link our leaders and partners to mentors who guide them through social change processes, and help them gain access to resources and information
  • Providing psycho-social support as they undertake challenging programmes

Building Alliances

Since working alone in this arena can be difficult, alliances help bring together like-minded organisations and individuals in order to combine and harvest their organisational capacities, knowledge base and resources. We encourage networks of working-class activists and leaders.
